staycation.
Enjoyed our staycation this past weekend-Venice style!
The neighborhood "walking streets", philly cheesesteak, lemon shake, and hot and delicious pizza from the Abbot Kinney festival were definite highlights, but the icing on the cake was experiencing the Hollywood Bowl for the first time with an amazing show and evening picnic!
Another fabulous weekend for the books!

jr. jr.
Even though we weren't able to check out Austin this past weekend, we still feel like we got a little bit of ACL from their live stream all weekend. Seriously- so awesome. Got to see Foster the People, Damian Marley and Nas, Pretty Lights, Coldplay, Cults, and our new fave Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Wow..those dudes rip it! We highly recommend listening to their new album, It's a Corporate World. Their US tour is wrapping up this week with cheap shows for all of our DC, Philly, NYC and Cleveland friends. Check em out!

hell yes.
Is it too early to start obsessing over Coachella/lineup rumors etc?! Nahh. It's too much fun! The latest to be leaked regarding the lineup is saying that Radiohead and No Doubt are both confirmed. YES! This is amazing news on a few different levels. Not only is Radiohead the one band I haven't seen that I am DYING to, but I also have a bet with a co-worker that if Radiohead is a headliner he buys my ticket. Double YES!
“…And though rock record revenues have diminished, the concert business, led by acts with multi-decade careers playing arenas and stadiums, has held steady and in some cases has actually increased. The same is true with high-profile festivals like Coachella, which has locked in No Doubt and Radiohead as two of next year’s headliners…"

my week with marilyn.
Michelle Williams does a nice job practicing for her upcoming role as Marilyn Monroe in this spread for next month's Vogue magazine. In the article, she discusses playing the iconic role in her latest project, My Week with Marilyn, and finally opens up about how she coped with the tragic death of Heath Ledger.
“Three years ago, it felt like we didn’t have anything, and now my life—our life—has kind of repaired itself. Look, it’s not a perfectly operating system—there are holes and dips and electrical storms—but the basics are intact. It’s changed how I see the world and how I interact on a daily basis. It’s changed the parent I am. It’s changed the friend I am. It’s changed the kind of work that I really want to do. It’s become the lens through which I see life—that it’s all impermanent.”

paradise.
The 2nd single off of Coldplay's new album just dropped! We've heard almost half of it and just heard there's going to be a Rihanna collaboration in there as well! Pretty stoked for October 24th.

challenge yourself.
Kate Winslet channels Elizabeth Taylor for the Heroes Issue of V Magazine. In the article, she talks her upcoming roles in Contagion, the Steven Soderbergh thriller about the breakout of a global pandemic, and Carnage, which is Roman Polanski's adaptation of the Broadway play God of Carnage, about parents dealing with their children being bullied. A great actor is someone who is always challenging themselves with different roles- love this about Kate.
“I hope I’m shitting myself over the characters I play for the rest of my life. Because the day I go, ‘Oh yeah, that’s going to be a piece of piss,’ why fucking bother? If you do that, you do not learn. I hope I’m always learning something. So I won an Oscar. It’s amazing. I’ve got that for the rest of my life for a performance I’m proud of. It nearly killed me. I’m really proud of the film. That’s it. Moving on.”
