Went to House of Blues last night and got to see Erykah Badu. She killed it! Chick's got some serious pipes! Mike Posner surprise attacked and gave her a birthday serenade too.

two buck chuck.

We've got a serious addiction to Trader Joe's. It's conveniently located across the street so we've been doing all of our shopping there. Not only is it super cheap, but it's healthy and delicious. One of our favorite features of this Cali-born grocery store is their wine selection. The 'two buck chuck' as they call it is simply amazing, and perfect for those of us on a budget! I mean three bottles of wine for seven dollars?! Sign me up!

banksy.

Who is Banksy? Well...no one really knows. We know that he's a British graffiti artist, painter, and activist, but his actual identity remains unknown. He is nominated for an Oscar this Sunday for his documentary, "Exit Through the Gift Shop". His artwork has been popping up all over LA recently, which is speculated to be a possible Oscar campaign. Either way, we're intrigued. We've had the pleasure of running into a few of his pieces. Check out some of his graffiti below...

graffiti.

Jeffrey Deitch recently relocated from New York City to LA to take on the director role at LA's Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). He plans to make MOCA the most creative and influential contemporary art gallery in the world. One of the first big exhibitions he is planning is set to debut in the Spring, called "Art in the Streets", which will showcase the history of graffiti art. "After Pop art, graffiti is probably the biggest art movement in recent history to have such an impact on culture", he said.

Sounds pretty interesting. Excited to check this out!

noho.

Ventured out in the Valley for the first time last night. We went to Tiki No in North Hollywood to hear our friend DJ. As you can imagine from the name, the bar featured fruity cocktails and a festive decor of tribal masks, blowfish, tiki huts, and a fire pit. Met Elijah Wood, who DJ'd as well. Unfortunately, the good son is a hobbit when it comes to his musical taste. Luckily, our friend followed him up with the jams!

lovely start to the week.

Started the morning off right with a new hike, Temescal Canyon, between Pacific Palisades and Malibu. The scenery was breathtaking from the top, as was the journey to get there. The steep and winding trail was densely wooded and covered in lush greens. The views of the Pacific Ocean, downtown Los Angeles and unexpected waterfall were all highlights. After our hiking adventure, we enjoyed a delightful lunch at Panini Garden, on Main Street in Santa Monica. We're getting good at this hiking thing!
